Look, these things happen. I know everyone thought what on Earth was going on during the first part of yesterday’s Adab class, but like anyone remembered what I said from last week anyway…
And hey, make some excuses. You’ve got seventy-odd to choose from. Yeah.

tafseer of the statement please

Well said.
See everyone? That’s an example of the best kind of excuse for your brother. Just act as if nothing happened whatsoever and you didn’t notice and everything was hunky dory. Then, for extra measure, chuck in a statement requesting further information and look all innocent at the same time.
Masha’Allah brother. You be the man.

A request I would like to mention:
I am kind of fed up of seeing books, articles and lectures on the topic of ‘how to be a outstanding husband/wife’, I am not denying its important.
Abu Eesa can you please write an article on ‘how to be an outstanding child towards the parents’. I feel their is a need for it.
JazakAllah.

I agree with the above.

Nup! I think there are faar too many of those. If not… You just gott ask your parents, what you can do, to please ‘em etc. Khalaas!!
However! How about an article on: Childrens Rights! I don’t see ANY of those! I haven’t even heard of a lecture by a Shaykh on it.. *waits to be proven wrong*

Wa ‘alaykum salam wa rahmatullah
Well, the problem is that I’ve just spent an entire year explaining how a child can be outstanding to their parents i.e. “birr al-walidayn”. It is far easier to do that than to condense it into 3 pages.
As for the other way round i.e. the rights of the children upon their parents, now that really is something interesting and very under-studied. That’s why it will follow our current focus which is the general maintaining of the ties of kinship. And for that…you’ll just have to be patient…
