Especially after watching this trash below; I mean, can you like imagine having to watch this kind of stuff on mainstream TV everyday?
It’s amazing how things like this strengthen our natural stereotypes. For me, I couldn’t imagine living in America as a Muslim because of the kind of image I perceive i.e. that the Muslims have to go through so many difficulties in their religion, which is probably nonsense of course, but then they probably think the same about our Deeni situation here, and the French probably think the same about the Aussies and we all think it’s a disaster in France etc etc.
I suppose everyone is more worried about the “other” and the reality is that there is no place like home. I couldn’t imagine leaving Manchester for another Western City from a Deeni point of view – we’ve just got it too good. But then I suppose that goes the same for those who’ve lived all their lives in Paris, Sydney, New York, Houston, London etc right?
But you’ve got to admit – America still does sound scary to us in Blighty. They just look so extreme – they’re fatter than us and they’re thinner than us. They are the most Islamophobic you can think of and then the closest to us with respect to their Christiantiy. They are the most religious and then the most irreligious. They are the richest and then there is incredible poverty there, unbelievable for such a Western country. They are the most militant and yet probably have the greatest number of pacifists in a single country. They eat so big and yet they eat so light. They are the most advanced in their cities and the most backward in the backwaters. They have some of the most beautiful scenery on the face of this Earth and yet have some of the most depressing living conditions known to Man. They are incredibly sad and yet incredibly happy. It is the land of the down n’ outs and yet the land of the rich and famous.
This could only be…America.
And this could only be written by…a biased Brit.
But hey, that horrible woman Michelle Malkin still scares the life out of me.
