You know what I mean.
I’m talking about comparing Ronaldo’s “shrug of the shoulders” celebration last night against basically any single goal celebration by the king of noncholant unfussy suave celebrations, King Cantona.
i.e. this picture of Ronaldo yesterday
X
against one of Cantona’s “all-around-the-ground-stare” celebrations:
X
It’s true isn’t it? Ronaldo, however good he is, is still only a poor man’s Cantona. He just looks too much like a teenager trying too hard to look like an adult. Theirry Henry used to be good at the noncholant-type celebration but I think Ronnie needs to give it up. But I tell you what, he’s a fabulous player you’ve got to admit…
Oh, and the reason you can’t see any pictures is because I can’t be bothered with having to deal with all the people moaning about how haram it is for me to stick up a photo. So just close your eyes and imagine instead. Yeah.

Wa ‘alaykum salam wa rahmatullah
can anybody provide a biography of Imam Bahauddin Al-Maqdisi (who authored Al-Uddah – Sharh Al-Umdah? Was he the son of THE Ibn Qudama Maqdisi? Just wanted to know…
In brief, Baha’Uddin al-Maqdisi was born 556h in Nablus, Palestine. He was one of the main students of Ibn Qudamah al-Maqdisi – they are not related but the “Maqdisi” title confuses some people; it’s simply a reference to these Hanbali scholars and their closeness to Bayt’l-Maqdis of al-Aqsa.
He memorised the Qur’an whilst still a boy and then eventually went on to study all the Islamic sciences with with Ibn Qudamah in Damascus. He was an Imam in his own right, and wrote the commentaries to both Ibn Qudamah’s ‘Umdah and al-Muqni. He passed away in Damascus in 624h rahimullah rahmatan wasi’ah.
As you know, I don’t do football, but I’d be interested to see. Can’t you put a link to these photographs instead?
Shame that – we could talk about footy when I’m bored…

If you follow the logic further Abu E, Ronaldo is a poor man’s Cantona- Cantona was a poor man’s Gerrard!
*ducks*

Cantona was definately “all in a day’s work”.
Ronaldo was doing – I don’t know what.
But after all that, I still don’t do football. I can spare a bit of time for F1 or snooker, if you want.
