Obama in Cairo:
Sweet words from a sweet performer. Now we want the action. Enough of the rhetorical bakwas.
And seriously, anyone who can’t pronounce the word “al-Azhar” after preparing for two months is seriously over-rated. I had to rewind the clip like six times to try and work out what he was saying and then gave up in the end and just used the subtitled version! Apostate or not, surely we deserved better than that!
Hint: when someone says a word super-quickly, it’s usually because they don’t know what they’re talking about. Trust me. Been there. Done that. Recorded on Camera. Unfortunately.
Local BNP victories in NW England:
Nick Griffin MEP – it hurts doesn’t it? I remember one of the ‘Ulema many years ago telling me that the Muslim community in Europe (including the UK) was on the edge of the goodwill of its indigenous population, notwithstanding the proof of Bosnia etc. He said that the only thing which is keeping the peace is the healthy state of the economy but once that starts to suffer then you’ll see the results on the rest of the ethnic minorities.
Has this BNP victory been the one of the first signs of this prediction during the recession? Sure, there was more apathy this time round which always plays into the hands of the independents and committed ones, but it would be wise for the Muslims to take a lesson. Wallahu A’lam.
The roots of the crisis in the NWFP:
For the doubters out there who don’t believe the recent atrocities of the “Taleban” (or more accurately the original “Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi Party”) is the methodology of the Khawarij then please read the posts below in order – and reflect upon how they’ve got progressively more Muslim-blood hungry as is always the case.
I remember the start of Sufi Mohammed’s TNSM movement when I was in Swat at the time – perhaps 17 years ago – when it was all black turbans, Kalashnikovs, packed Toyota pick-ups driving up and down the road, jalsahs and the odd public humiliation of a barber or two. How things have changed.
How they have destroyed themselves the second they spilt the blood of another Muslim who says La ilaha Illallah! How little they valued the Shahadah and how they will be destroyed for their devaluation! Just like al-Qa’idah and Zarqawi’s animals in Iraq, you will see the humiliation of these so-called holy warriors. The crying shame? It is the Muslims and Islam that will suffer as a result of it at the end.
And now for some much-needed lighter stuff…
MP’s expenses:
For all those who are hatin’ on our MPs, just remember that these guys are small fry compared to American congressmen. I was reading a copy of “Foreign Policy” in a Jordanian hotel room a few weeks ago (yeah, sad I know!) and I fell off my fluffy hotel bed learning on how much they fleece their corrupt system. Trust me folks, whilst we talk about thousands and castle moats, they do millions and penthouse suites in 6-star hotels. Man, whatever we do, the Yankees do bigger.
The Champion’s League defeat:
The better team won. Messi was conclusively proven as the world’s greatest footballer once and for all which is also good news. Well done Barcelona.
That Afridi catch:
Clearly it’s not just matches that catches win! It seems they can perform miracles! The Pakistani Cricket team looked a whole different kettle of fish after that stunning effort by Afridi and you’ve got to say they’ve got a great chance this time to get the job done. I think. Insha’Allah.
Ronaldo:
Good riddance! Yeah great player and all that but kasmai hard work. A good sum of money for good service over the years, but now let’s hope we can keep Tevez and then you’ll see some serious football next year.
And that’s all I can do for now. “Don’t call it a come-back. I’ve been here for years…”

On Obama…
Ustadh you’re like the only person who isn’t acting like Obama might be the Mahdi in disguise.
(Breaths in the fresh air).
June 16, 2009 at 3:03 pm
Ustadh, please don’t through out the word apostate out so lightly
Also ‘Talibah’, abu eesa isn’t acutally the only one who isn’t convinced by Obama.
Firstly, he let his trump card out far too early re: israel and their purported “two state solution” – he realised the power of lingusitcs but the timing was all wrong.
Secondly, he is a diplomat not a revoluntionary – hence he was more of an instated monarch then a legitimate freedom fighter with a message – he has Mandela cult status without any of the hard work.
Thirdly, he seems, unfortunately, to be more of fancy window-dressing; extremely impressive gucci style window dressing, which the world laps up, while behind closed doors the US is increasing its imperialistic aims. Example? Ok! Closing Guantanamo Bay (or the promise to close it within 12 months), pacified much of the world and stopped bin laden from having much to fuel his fanatical and pathetic rants. However, Obama specifically kept the CIA rendition programme in play – ie other black camps that we DO NOT see, and we do NOT KNOW OF. Guantanamo was a PR nightmare for Bush, and a dream for the Obama administration – they closed it down while leaving open all those really horrible places which we don’t see daily in the news. And the numbers of people in them? Well, with Guantanamo closing, there will be 98.9% (or 96.9%, i can’t remember) of prisoners still in these camps. So yes, Guantanamo’s closure is minor league – though brilliant I must add. I also must add, as a sort of disclaimer, that Guantanamo is like a holiday resort in Spain next to these other camps. Just ask Binyam Mohammed – see what happened to him in Morocco versus what happened to him in Guantanamo.
And window dressing the world laps up? Oh my, Obama made a speech in Prague about the dangers of nuclear proliferation and how he was against weapons and how he wanted the world to work together to reduce weapons etc etc, and it was something which may not happen is his lifetime, but it was something he believed in and was dedicated too…..while simulateanously continuing with the star wars project IN the czech republic!!!!! How can anyone buy those words when they KNEW they were empty by the blatant hypocrisy which he didn’t even try to hide – he actually JUSTIFIED his country’s OWN GROWTH of weapons in the same speech, justifying the eastern european weapons programmes they were creating while urguing the world to stop collecting weapons and admonishing north korea and iran for attempting to be of some semblance to those who remain constant threats to them???
Yes, we aren’t all taken in by Barack quite yet.
June 16, 2009 at 3:49 pm
JazakAllah khair Br Bilal, yes you are right he isn’t the only one but I actually meant in terms of the blogosphere, and more so American Muslims.
Re: Gitmo – even persuading Itally or other EU States to accept prisoners although outwardly yes it is positive news, we need to remember the brothers wilLstill face problems wherever they go. May Allah have mercy on them.

South Africa: great place, great people, well done with the IPL, shame that you’re going to get battered by the Paks.

Sh Suhaib hafidhahullah is the Imam of this country in my opinion. Anyone who has been fortunate enough to study with him will know exactly why we say that.
One thing that I certainly know is the people of the UK and those around him didn’t do him justice or give him his due right, which can only bode well for the Akhirah for this giant amongst men. May Allah reward him without limit and grant him success in both worlds, ameen.

Ameen!

Whether South Africa will get ‘battered’ by the Paks or not, depends on the moods of the latter…everyone knows they’re erratic, temperamental and inconsistent
I’m backing the Windies anyway. I follow my son’s madhhab when it comes to cricket…don’t have much of a choice.

Maybe some food for thought;
Al-Imam ibn Hazm al-Andalusi (rahimahullah), wrot a book entitled Kitab al-Akhlaq wa as-Siyar fi Mudawat an-Nufus (The Book of Morals and Right Conduct in the Healing of the Souls),
On the concept of praise and criticism, from the section Al-’Aql wa al-Rahah (Rationality and Peace of Mind)
Al-Imam ibn Hazm writes:
Whoever believes he can totally avoid people’s scorn and criticism is mad. Whoever examines matters carefully and disciplines himself to rely on the facts would enjoy people’s criticizing him more than praising him. This is because if they praise him justly and he becomes aware of their praise, it might make him vainglorious, and this would devalue his virtues. If they praise him unjustly and he becomes aware of their praise, he would attain happiness from that which is false, and this would be a grave fault.
On the other hand, if people criticize him justly and he becomes aware of their criticism, it might help him to avoid that for which he is criticized; and this would be a great fortune, which only the faulty would forsake. If they criticize him unjustly and he becomes aware of their criticism and perseveres, he would become more virtuous by his perseverance and forbearance.
Moreover, he gains reward, because he receives some of the good deeds of those who criticize him unjustly. These deeds will count for him on the Day of Judgment, when he will be in most need to be saved; let it be by deeds of which he did not labor and by which he was not burdened. This is a great fortune, which only a fool would belittle.

Assalaamu alaikum
As’salam’alaykum
There is a sister who is currently being held in prison on Remand. She has six children in a different country. The sister is only able to speak Arabic (Moroccan) and dutch (Holland). If you are a sister who can speak Arabic or Dutch, please come forward to help this sister. We only ask for you to write to her a few words of support as she is all alone and has no family around her.
The Prophet (PBUH) said,
“The Muslims in their mutual love, kindness and compassion are like the human body where when one of its parts is in agony the entire body feels the pain, both in sleeplessness and fever.” (Bukhari and Muslim)
If you are able to help, please contact me as soon as possible.

Re: BNP
_______
Assalaamu ‘alaikum,
Firstly to confess up-front, I’m not much into all the politics and don’t particularly understand the ins and outs and the politics of politics…
But…
British National Party > Member of the European Parliament
Hmm…
Am I the only one who thinks this just sounds kind of.. weeeiiird??
I mean:
BRITISH NATIONAL party… member of the EUROPEAN parliament.
Like… whaaa’??????
[*Chuckle!*]
(Sorry!)

Asra- her words shook my heart to it’s core. Powerful and no doubt very persuasive to the younger more naive audience.
May Allah guide her.

Cantona was right about Sarkozy. He is “Le Pen with a mask”.

Asra is very annoying who talks with no context. She makes lots of ludicrous claims and seems to think that personal notions of “Free Will” supersedes all and even then you can remain Muslim.
What an annoying cow! May Allah reward Shaykh Yasir Qadhi for bringing some much needed common sense and understanding to this debate.

Regarding the two versions of Bulugh al Maram, I believe they both have the same number of ahadith but in the Darussalaam version they are sometimes grouped together, whereas in the other they are individually numbered. And Allah knows best.
