Some say that this is his Alter-Ego.

Some say that he’s an Accident and Emergency just waiting to happen.

Some say that he’s just trying to provide Alternative Entertainment.

All we know is that they call him… AE.

    Salaam Sheikh,

I was wondering if you could write an article on nationalism in Islam? My parents are originally from India. Some people at my university (namely people origianally from Pakistan) are so nationalistic towards their home country and feel Muslims from anywhere else (i.e. India) are sub standard, and should have moved to Pakistan etc. One person even said you should stick up for your country (islamically). I compltely disagreed with this. I was wondering if you could shed some light on this from a purely Islamic perspective? BarakaAllahu Feek.

    Fee Amaanillah.

I am sorry to put this message up here, I was not sure how else to take this forward.

Myself and my husband are currently based in Manchester and we were wondering when you have time whether you would kindly spare us 30 – 40mins for a meeting regarding an interesting project which we would like to get some advice and understanding from you?

Jazak Allahu khayran we very much look forward to hearing from you.

    Salaam,
I was hoping that Abu Eesa could do an article on his blog about niqabs. Just a quick info on whether or not its part of Islam and if it is recommended. I’ve read and heard so many things against it by muslims that I’m starting to doubt whether or not I should stop wearing it. Too many muslims have told me that it’s wrong for me to ignore it anymore. Jazakhallah!

  35. Alison Jarrett Says:

    Greetings!

I hope this finds you well. My name is Alison Jarrett and I am currently a post-graduate student at the London School of Economics and Political Science, studying Global Media and Communications. I found your blog through a maze of links in the blogosphere. :)

At the moment I am beginning the empirical research for my dissertation which seeks to identify motivations among young British Muslims who create and maintain their own blogs and websites. I am looking primarily at motivations originating from Islamic identity, British identity and online youth culture identity. I am interested in learning about why they keep religious blogs, what sorts of things they write about, and the kinds of responses they get from readers.

I am looking for young Muslims, age 18-35, who keep a religious blog or website, and was wondering if you fit the profile or know someone who does. I have a short survey if you’d like to contribute and enrich my research, which I’m including at the bottom of the email.Or if you find answering online surveys too tedious, let me know the best way to contact you and we can have a chat instead!

I would greatly appreciate any help or advice, and please don’t hesitate to ask questions if you want more clarification on my work. The finished report is due to be released around November, and I will happily share my research and findings.

    Best regards,
    Alison Jarrett
